2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files or similar technical data that may be stored on a user's device when visiting a website. They may be used to:

  • ensure the website works correctly,
  • keep the user logged in,
  • secure the user account,
  • store user settings,
  • remember consent settings,
  • analyse use of the website,
  • measure advertising effectiveness,
  • display or optimise marketing campaigns.

Other technologies may work in a similar way, e.g. pixels, browser local storage or identifiers used by analytics and advertising services.

3. Legal Basis for Using Cookies

The use of cookies is governed in particular by the applicable law of the European Union and the Slovak Republic, including the rules on privacy in electronic communications and the GDPR where the use of cookies involves the processing of personal data.

Cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the website or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user may be used without prior consent to the extent permitted by law.

Analytics, marketing and other non-essential cookies are used only after the user grants the relevant consent, where such consent is required by law. Where processing is based on consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

4. Categories of Cookies Used in PreverSi
4.1 Necessary cookies

Required for basic operation of the Service and cannot be switched off via the consent manager where they are necessary to provide the requested service. They may ensure:

  • user login,
  • session security,
  • form protection,
  • abuse prevention,
  • basic account functionality,
  • remembering privacy and cookie settings,
  • technical operation of the payment process.
4.2 Functional cookies

May remember certain user settings (e.g. language or interface) and improve comfort of use. If not necessary to provide the requested service, they are used only in line with consent requirements.

4.3 Analytics cookies

Help determine how visitors use the website, e.g. number of visits, pages viewed, time spent, technical errors, traffic source and feature use. Analytics cookies requiring consent are not activated before it is granted.

4.4 Marketing and advertising cookies

May be used to measure campaign effectiveness, build advertising audiences, cap ad frequency or tailor marketing communication — e.g. technologies from Google, Meta or TikTok, if those services are currently active on PreverSi. They are activated only after the required consent.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies or similar technologies may be provided by third parties. Depending on the current configuration of PreverSi, these may include providers of:

  • payment services,
  • analytics services,
  • advertising and marketing platforms,
  • security technologies,
  • technical infrastructure.

Where such services are used, they may include companies from the Stripe, Google, Meta or TikTok groups. These entities may in some cases process data as separate controllers or as processors, depending on the service. A current list of active cookies, their providers, purpose and duration is available via the "Cookie settings" tool where the technology or consent manager provides it.

6. Cookie Consent

On the first visit, a cookie management panel may be shown. The user can choose in particular "Accept all", "Reject all" or "Cookie settings". Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent use of the basic functions of PreverSi that do not require such cookies. Necessary cookies remain active to the extent needed to run the Service.

7. Voluntary Consent

Consent to analytics or marketing cookies is voluntary. Optional cookies must not be activated solely on the basis of:

  • visiting the website,
  • scrolling the page,
  • continuing to browse,
  • a pre-ticked box,
  • user inactivity.

The user must take a clear affirmative action expressing their decision where consent is required for the technology.

8. Changing or Withdrawing Consent

The user may change or withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" function available on the PreverSi website. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. After withdrawal, the relevant optional cookies are no longer used, except data that must be retained on another valid legal basis.

9. Cookie Duration

Cookies may be session cookies (stored only during use of the site, usually deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (stored for a set period or until deleted by the user). The duration depends on the specific cookie and its purpose, and should be shown in the "Cookie settings" tool or in the information provided by the technology provider.

10. Managing Cookies via the Browser

The user can also manage cookies through their browser settings, which may allow:

  • viewing stored cookies,
  • deleting cookies,
  • blocking all or selected cookies,
  • restricting third-party cookies.

Completely blocking necessary cookies via the browser may cause some PreverSi functions to work incorrectly.

11. Personal Data Processed via Cookies

Depending on the technology used, cookies or similar tools may process, for example:

  • IP address,
  • device or browser identifier,
  • session identifier,
  • information about pages visited,
  • time of visit,
  • interaction data,
  • approximate technical or location data,
  • traffic source or advertising campaign data.

The scope depends on the specific technology and the user's consent settings.

12. Data Transfers Outside the EEA

Some analytics, advertising, payment or technical providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Any transfer to a third country takes place through mechanisms permitted by the GDPR, e.g. an adequacy decision of the European Commission, standard contractual clauses or another permissible legal mechanism.

13. Personal Data Protection

Detailed information on how PreverSi processes personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy – PreverSi.
